The Mad Teapot/The Wishing Chair

If you wish to go to a calm and poised place, then this is the right spot for you. Treat your palate and eyes to some lovely goodies. The mad teapot located in Shahpur Jat is known for its tranquility and Italian cuisine. It is a specialty restaurant that is pro at serving Italian cuisine, inspired by World cuisine along with Bakery and Confectionary.

Filled with serenity, The Wishing Chair is sure to fulfill the desire of your dream place. Offering freshly baked cakes and bread, and variants of tea and coffee, this place keeps you glued for hours here altogether. So if you’re in the mood to sip a hot cuppa and sit back with a book, then The Mad Teapot is the place to be. This budget-friendly café is also ideal for you to hang out with your loved ones.

The Aesthetics

This peaceful café looks like a typical tea house, inside the wishing chair boutique. The place has some colorful mugs, antique tables, and teapots. The aesthetics look straight out of the book, ‘The Wishing Chair’ by Enid Blyton. The seating beside the wooden shelves displaying teapots and flower pots and kettles and Showpieces highlights its mesmerizing ambiance and decor. You might find all the quirky and unique items to buy here. It’s a great place for quiet time, reading, writing, and of course, relaxing while shopping. The cafe’s collection of teapots is also fitting. And, of course, there’s an assortment of boutique teas to go with it from Tea Trunk, Jugmug Thela, and Anandini Himalaya Tea (they also have a tea room in Shahpur Jat). Pair them with a freshly baked cake from the display, or a more substantial vegetarian salad, sandwiches, pasta, or flatbread. Coffee aficionado is catered for, as well. It’s an atmosphere of positivity and creativity in every nook and corner of the café.

What to Eat

The Mad Pot is an all-vegetarian café offering a lot more than just aesthetics. The dishes (all vegetarian) have names of the characters in the book, so you can relive your childhood as you ask for The Enchanted Forest Salad, Silky’s Toasties, Moonface Madness, or the Happy Stomach Tea. Its signature dishes are Tater Turnabout, The Mac and Cheese, pita pockets stuffed with spinach and cheese and sandwiches. The range of teas is unique and exciting – try the Autumn Tea with Rose Petals and Lemon Balm, Chili Chai, or the Black Tea with 12 Secret Spices Chai Masala, Berry Blush Green Tea or Green Tea with pomegranate flowers and Himalayan tulsi.
